Tektronix RSA306B Spectrum Analyzer
The Tektronix RSA306B is a portable, high-resolution, USB-enabled real-time spectrum analyzer that will convert a user's standard computer into a full-service RF analysis station. The unit offers a frequency range of 9 kHz to 6.2 GHz, a 40 MHz acquisition bandwidth for capturing wideband signals and operates using the provided SignalVu-PC software. The SignalVu-PC software is responsible for executing all measurement, analysis and display functions on the user's host PC; this structure allows for both the separation of data collection (acquisition) from data processing, while providing a low-cost, upgradeable solution to meet the demands of field environments, factory floors and academia.
Some of the key features of the RSA306B include advanced triggering to capture transient events such as time qualified, frequency mask and DPX density triggers. The Spectrum Analyzer has a 100% probability of intercept for signals as short as 15 microsecond, and it can support a variety of types of signal analysis from basic spectrum analysis to specific diagnostic testing for industry standards such as WLAN, LTE and Bluetooth. Also, the RSA306B is capable of facilitating pre-compliance testing in accordance with CISPR detectors and predetermined limit lines for electromagnetic compatibility applications. The unit is designed to be portable and meet Mil-Std specifications for ruggedized environmental conditions to provide reliable operation in harsh environments.
The SignalVu-PC software also provides advanced analysis tools, such as real-time DPX spectra and spectrograms to identify intermittent signals and interference, and it supports an API for automated control, as well as integration with MATLAB. Additional licensed software applications are available to expand the functionality of the unit for tasks such as digital modulation analysis, pulse measurements and signal classification. As a result, the Tektronix RSA306B provides laboratory-grade RF measurement capability in a small, portable package suitable for use in a variety of applications, including installation verification, maintenance, interference detection, and educational demonstration in multiple industries.
