Keysight U1253B Handheld Digital Multimeter
The Keysight U1253B Handheld Digital DMM is a very accurate instrument designed specifically for industrial applications and field operations requiring reliable performance with advanced measurement capabilities. It has a high-contrast organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display with a 50,000 count resolution, ensuring readability even under low light or when viewed under an angular position. The device can make True-RMS measurements of AC and DC voltage and current, thus enabling accurate measurement of complex waveshapes encountered in electrical networks. It also supports temperature measurement with K-type and J-type thermocouples, measurement of capacitance to 100 mF, and resistance measurement with an accuracy of 0.001 kΩ.
With an onboard 20 MHz frequency counter and programmable square-wave generator, circuit testing and digital stimulus are simplified with the U1253B. It also has a data logging function to enable interval or manual logging of up to 1000 internal data points, with this limited only by connection to a personal computer using an optional IR-to-USB interface, thereby expanding memory levels. Protection concerns are handled with overvoltage protection of CAT III 1000 V and CAT IV 600 V, 30 kA overmold high-energy fusible link, and overmold case with an operating temperature ranging from –20 °C to +55 °C.
The multimeter runs on a 9 V alkaline or rechargeable battery with an approximate working time span of 8 hours over normal usage. The major connectivity attributes include a dual-display facility where multiple parameters can be viewed together and a SHIFT key to change between various operations instantly. Additionally, advanced modes such as duty cycle, pulse width, and peak hold enhance diagnostic performance in varied applications.
The U1253B has been designed to provide high versatility with ease of decibel (dB) calculation and a 10-MΩ input impedance over a broad voltage range. Its compliance with IEC 61010-1 standards guarantees stable performance under conditions with high altitude and humidity levels. Optional accessories including thermocouple probes, test leads, and carrying case increase its flexibility to industrial automation applications, such as power quality measurement, and device maintenance. With accuracy, robustness, and multifunctional features, U1253B fully addresses increased measurement requirements in various industries ranging from manufacturing, energy, and telecommunications industries.
