Varian L8350-301 Multi-Gauge Controller
Varian’s L8350-301 Vacuum Gauge Controller offers customers an easy-to-use tool for vacuum measurement & control that has been designed for use in both laboratory & industrial vacuum systems. The L8350-301 is a half-rack unit that accepts inputs from multiple vacuum gauges, allowing users to view pressure information in real time as well as automate vacuum processes.
One of the most significant advantages of using Varian's Vacuum Gauge Controller is its modular design. As users install additional modules (circuit boards) directly into their vacuum systems, they have the flexibility to easily add new capabilities without replacing their entire vacuum system. The base module supports the use of multiple different vacuum gauge types simultaneously (up to 8 thermocouple gauges & 3 ion gauges). In addition, customers can purchase additional modules, which will allow them to monitor capacitance manometers, activate set point relays for automated processes, and connect remote I/O modules for longer distance connectivity. With these options, the customer can build a system that meets their needs, whether it is for semiconductor processing, research and development, or coating systems.
The Varian Multi-Gauge has a high-resolution backlit liquid crystal display that has a very wide viewing angle. The display has a bar graph for thermocouple gauges and a numeric readout with exponent and annunciator lights for status information such as units and degassing cycles. The user will be able to enter commands using the Front Panel Membrane Keypad. The keypad is touch sensitive and has direct access to all of the important functions of the multi-gauge. Customers who wish to integrate their multi-gauge into an automated environment may do so by purchasing one of several communication boards. These boards support RS232 and RS485/422 interfaces. These interfaces will enable the user to completely control their multi-gauge via a computer and network up to 32 units together over long distances. The multi-gauge will retain all of the user configuration parameters for up to four years without power. When power is applied again, it will be immediately ready for use. All of the abovementioned factors combine to make the Varian L8350-301 multi-gauge an adaptable and effective solution for the many challenging vacuum measurement and control applications that exist today.
