Anritsu S331L Cable & Antenna Analyzer
The Anritsu S331L Cable & Antenna Analyzer is a ninth-generation, handheld field instrument for wireless network installation, maintenance, and tower contracting. It has a rugged design with a dust- and splash-proof case that weighs less than 2.0 kg to ensure easy transport across difficult environments such as rooftops or communications towers. The analyzer features an 8-hour battery life that can be stretched to 10 hours using intelligent power conservation techniques like auto-display dimming and instant wake-from-standby, without the necessity for on-site power supplies.
This one-port analyzer features key cable and antenna measurements such as Return Loss, Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR), Cable Loss, and Distance-to-Fault (DTF). Enhanced DTF capabilities use up to 1033 datapoints to provide the highest possible fault detection range without sacrificing resolution. The S331L offers two user modes: Classic Mode, which mimics well-known Site Master interfaces to allow easy transition by experienced users, and Advanced Mode, with new navigation, eight user-configurable markers, and shortcuts to make workflows easier.
Calibration is made easy by FlexCal, a one-time calibration for all frequencies, and InstaCal, an automatic single-connection calibration via an internal module. Precise transmitter power verification is assured with the built-in power meter, a necessity for network coverage and performance maintenance. There are multiple USB ports in the analyzer for data transfer, peripheral connection, or device charging, along with internal storage for over 1000 files.
The 7-inch display has an alphanumeric keypad and EZ Name Quick Matrix for rapid file naming using predefined tags for site numbers, sectors, or frequencies. For post-processing, Anritsu's Line Sweep Tools (LST) software provides trace editing, reporting, and importability of industry-standard *.dat files. Additional PC-based software programs such as easyTest Tools provide workflow automation with step-by-step test instructions presented directly on the analyzer.
Field serviceability is supported by a modular construction that permits users in the field to swap out defective modules such as the power meter module without recalibration. Optical connector inspection (through optional USB probe) and IEC 61300-3-35 compliance facilitate accurate connector quality inspections. Built to withstand tough environments, the S331L supports wireless providers and contractors who need quick, accurate RF system verification to reduce downtime and maximize network performance.
