Aeroflex 3005 Smart PXI Chassis
The Aeroflex 3005 is a 3U Smart PXI Chassis platform for modular test systems. The unit provides 19 slots with one system controller. It targets industrial automation where synchronized measurement and deterministic behavior are essential. The power subsystem accepts 85 to 264 VAC across 47 to 63 hertz. Maximum usable output power is 600 watts for demanding multi instrument configurations. The smart 3005 Chassis contains internal protections that regulate faults and promote sustained availability. The regulated rails hold within positive or negative 3% under rated loading conditions.
The 3005 Chassis has available outputs of 5 volts for digital modules. Higher voltage service uses +12 volts with controlled ripple for sensitive subsystems. The negative rail provides -12 volts for legacy instrumentation and interface requirements within specified limits. The ripple and noise meet 50 millivolts on the 5 volt and logic rails. Thermal management uses three fan sets delivering 185.9 CFM. The Aeroflex 3005 has a per slot cooling capacity which is rated at 25 watts validated by 55 degrees testing. The Aeroflex 3005 Smart PXI Chassis distributes backplane clocks and triggers with disciplined integrity. A dedicated system slot coordinates bandwidth and slot to slot synchronization coherently across complex setups. The routing preserves skew characteristics for deterministic timing. The mechanical design of the chassis strengthens grounding and shielding for noise sensitive measurement tasks. Its backplane construction supports consistent impedance and reliable interconnects between peer modules under continuous duty. The clear front access allows module exchange without disturbing neighboring instruments during scheduled calibration. The storage conditions range from -20°C to +70°C with protection against condensation for the smart chassis 3005. The unit tolerates about 10% to 90% relative moisture in varying environments. It operates under random vibration of 0.31g across 3 axes and tolerates 2.46g when not in use.
The smart chassis ensures disciplined construction with 444 mm (17.48 in) width, 178 mm (7.01 in) height and depth is 455 mm (17.91 in) for rack integration. The rigid framing maintains slot alignment for reliable insertion and extraction. Paneling supports structured cable routing and clean service clearances.
