Conduant StreamStor PXI-808 Storage Controller
The StreamStor PXI-808 manufactured by Conduant is a storage controller built for both PXI and CompactPCI systems. The PXI-808 is designed for the high-speed recording and playback of data and can sustain a rate of 200 MB/s for data transfer. The PXI-808 also has dual SS4 SATA x4 connectors to connect to an external storage device, such as a Conduant Big River DM4, DM4E, or DM-425-3U, and can support up to eight separate SATA drives. That makes it flexible and, hence, suitable for complex, data-intensive applications that require reliable, scalable storage solutions supporting up to 8 TB of storage in order to record extended sessions of continuous data flow.
The PXI-808 is designed to provide especially high-speed data capture and playback for a variety of applications, including digital signal processing (DSP), radar and sonar systems, high-speed data acquisition, telemetry, satellite data reception, medical imaging, high-resolution video, and waveform generation. The Storage Controller responds to these diversified industry demands with its strong performance in applications requiring long record times and high data management efficiency. The PXI-808 is a gem in many defense, industrial, and research applications where stable and sustained data rates are needed.
The compact, versatile PXI-808 will easily fit both 3U and 6U configurations in any standard PXI or CompactPCI chassis system. This is ensured with the best possible flow of data through its 64-bit, 66 MHz PXI (CompactPCI) bus interface. Furthermore, its 512 MB memory buffer ensures that minimal latency occurs and that recording efficiency is optimized. The PXI-808 supports features such as StreamStor's circular recording (wrap mode) and direct recording from PCI sources, thereby offering users flexible and adaptive data capture capabilities.
This storage controller is equipped with dual SS4 SATA x4 interfaces, which provide flexible options for external storage. These interfaces allow users to attach a large number of SATA drives (or Conduant Big River storage systems) directly to the controller. In addition, the connections of the PXI-808 allows it to efficiently manage and transfer large amounts of data. All in all, this controller is a powerful tool for any high-performance applications that need expandable storage facilities for long periods.
