Keysight/Agilent J2913B UTP155 ATM Module for the Keysight Advisor
The J2913B UTP155 ATM Module provides a faster way to troubleshoot and validate a network for automation applications such as time-sensitive controls and video and voice transmission on SDH/SONET backbones. It has been designed to provide field technicians with quick access to simulated traffic (constant bit rate and variable bit rate) and policing information in real time. As a result, it will help identify configuration errors much sooner than before during initial setup of the network. The J2913B also includes graphical load chart capabilities, which will allow field technicians to see where the heavy usage areas are based on network layer addresses. This will greatly assist in determining how to plan for capacity issues and isolate faults in the network.
The Keysight Advisor J2913B UTP155 ATM Module continuously monitors the physical layer status of your link. If there is ever an outage, the module will indicate this with a timestamp. To determine if the issue was caused at the send side or the receive side, the J2913B uses two separate receivers. Each receiver has its own regeneration circuit, allowing the engineer to capture both commands and responses from the remote device. This allows engineers to measure latency with 100 nanoseconds of precision when working with critical automation protocols. In addition, the J2913B has an auto-audit feature that will scan the entire ATM virtual path and virtual channel identifier list. Once scanned, it will decode each identifier to show what ATM adaptation layer encapsulation is being used and how each circuit is configured and utilized. This makes it easy for engineers to check which services are currently active on their network.
The J2913B module utilizes a Windows-based platform with simple icons for organizing test functionality into simple menu options. Using these menus, engineers can use an integrated ping utility to perform continuity testing to confirm end-to-end connectivity and measure round trip delays. Simulation test functions have also been predefined so full-bandwidth traffic may be generated at the same time that CBR, VBR, and traffic policing are monitored. Therefore, issues related to installation are solved quickly. When conducting transport layer validation, the J2913B module will decode the SDH/SONET overhead bytes, including support for both STM-3c and STM-1 framing formats, to confirm that the media (optical or electrical) used in the network are operating within specifications.
