The Keysight J3446E is a portable computer-based network analyzer that provides complete, portable, 10/100BaseT Ethernet testing. Its Windows 98 graphical user interface provides ease of use. The Keysight J3446E uses auto-negotiate to allow the automatic verification of both 10Base-T and Fast Ethernet segments. The J3446E has a PCMCIA capture interface with an RJ-45 connector for the capture of copper twisted pair links. An optional fiber module can be used to extend analysis to a 100Base-FX backbone in noisy industrial environments. Allowing for total diagnostic capability on switched and shared segments. Designed for use by field service engineers, the J3446E is built to be rugged and portable with an easy-to-use display allowing quick diagnosis at remote locations.
The J3446E comes equipped with the Oracle and Sybase connectors. These commentators provide expert decoding of database protocols and application transactions across all seven OSI layers. In addition to decoding these protocols, the commentator will also provide correlations of network events to application layer errors, packet retransmissions, and server response time. Providing the engineer with accelerated fault isolation. The Vitals Dashboard provides real-time health indicators, including error rates, bandwidth utilization, and broadcast traffic. Helping engineers anticipate possible degradations. Complete network statistics capture frame size distributions, protocol mixes, and error distributions. Performance trending and reporting are provided via the optional Advisor Reporter add-on, providing automated baseline creation and customizable reporting.
In industrial automation, the J3446E is being used to provide deterministic real-time Ethernet networks connecting PLCs, I/O modules, and supervisory systems. Isolating intermittent faults on full-duplex server links, identifying broadcast storms caused by misconfigured devices, and verifying QoS parameters on converged voice/data networks. Detailed protocol distribution statistics help to identify root causes of analysis of packet loss and collision domains. Decoding Fieldbus over Ethernet protocols assists in ensuring reliable communication for SCADA, MES, and motion control applications. Reducing Unplanned Downtime on Plant Floors. Proactive maintenance of industrial protocols using this real-time visibility into those same industrial protocols.
