Keysight/Agilent P5552A PCIe 5.0 Protocol Analyzer
The Keysight P5552A is an embedded protocol analyzer for in-depth analysis of all generations of PCIe (Gen1-Gen5) systems, capable of analyzing data transfer speeds up to 32 Gbps and supporting lane widths of x4, x8, and x16. The P5552A has a unique approach that utilizes an integrated interposer. Unlike other analyzers that require a separate chassis, the P5552A does not require one, which makes it easy to set up on a lab bench and preserves the quality of your signals. Additionally, this analyzer will cause little disturbance in the channel between your host and device. Therefore, you do not have to worry about having your link retimed by the analyzer or being unable to detect any problems with the link. In addition to observing the PHY layer ordered sets and link layer flow control (including ACK/NAK and replay), the P5552A also observes transaction layer memory operations, configuration operations, and I/O operations. The P5552A offers up to 16 GB of trace memory and onboard compression, allowing engineers to perform longer capture periods.
The P5552A comes equipped with simple and advanced triggering capabilities along with cascading IF/THEN logic chains and filtering options to eliminate routine traffic and allow engineers to isolate those difficult-to-identify intermittent and complex protocol anomalies.
In terms of interoperability debugging, the P5552A is designed to be paired with the P5551A Protocol Exerciser to provide a complete validation solution. Dimensions for physical purposes include a half-length PCIe card measuring 235mm H x 167mm L weighing less than 1.5 kg, along with USB 3.0, power input, and SMA trigger connectors. Drawing 12VDC @ 18 amps for a max draw of 230W. The x16 Edge Connector uses gold-plated pins designed specifically for use with single-slot PCIe cards, providing a solid connection to your System Under Test (DUT). Engineers designing high-speed PCIe-based control or data acquisition systems for industrial automation will find the P5552A provides accurate and non-intrusive capture and decoding necessary for qualifying link behavior, troubleshooting protocol faults, and improving validation timeframes while minimizing concerns regarding potential interference from the testing equipment.
