Keysight/Agilent U3052C SerialTek BusXpert PRO Protocol Analyzer
The U3052C from Keysight (formerly from Agilent) is a dedicated 4-port protocol analyzer that analyzes SAS and SATA buses at speeds of 1.5, 3.0, and 6.0 Gbps. The BusXpert PRO has dimensions of 8.5 x 14 x 3.5 inches and weighs approximately 10 lbs, providing ample opportunity for movement from one lab bench or field location to another. Additionally, the BusXpert PRO provides either a Mini-SAS connector (for a four-port link) or SATA 7-pin connectors. Both are upgradeable through the use of field-upgradeable components. The U3052C supports extended traces of up to 36 GB. The U3052C also supports fast offloading of captured data via PCIe of greater than 550 MB/sec and Gig-Ethernet of 70 MB/sec.
In terms of hardware capabilities, the U3052C possesses many native features, including a Rapid Data Re-lock Native PHY, an Eye Opener Front End, Tunable RX/TX Signaling, Two-Nanosecond Timestamp Resolution (which enables Precise Timing on SAS Wide Links or Power Management Sequences), Deep Triggering/Filtering (which enables engineers to identify specific Traffic Patterns), and an External Trigger In/Out Port and Manual Trigger Button that provide additional flexibility for Synchronization. Furthermore, up to four BusXpert PRO platforms can be cascaded into a single graphical user interface. The primary function of the U3052C is to aid engineers in debugging/validation/compliance testing of storage systems, enterprise SAS fabrics, server backplanes, solid-state drives, and hard disk drives.
Engineers utilize the U3052C to capture Speed Negotiation Out-of-Band Signals Command Errors Frame-Level Details as they occur during Link-Up or Power State Changes. The included software utilizes InstaSearch Technology, which allows instantaneous pattern identification; pre-indexing, which facilitates rapid trace display; and export to CSV, HTML, or XML. Status LEDs per port pair indicate auto-MUX detection, auto-speed detection, presence of out-of-band signals, link status, frame activity, and command errors. Regardless of whether engineers are analyzing SAS expanders, SATA target devices, or STP traffic, the U3052C will enable them to capture accurate high-throughput data to assist in storage interface development & troubleshooting.
