Keysight/Agilent U4305A PCIe Exerciser and PCIe LTSSM Exerciser
The Keysight U4305A PCIe exerciser is a protocol-aware traffic generation and LTSSM testing device that allows you to validate your PCIe devices up to Gen 3 (8 GT/s) using x1-x16 lanes. This is a very useful tool for industrial automation engineers who are either designing, developing, or integrating PCIe subsystems into their embedded controllers, data acquisition cards, and real-time processing modules. As both a root complex and endpoint, this card will allow you to thoroughly simulate your link partners without having to use the standard chipset. When operating as an endpoint, you simply plug the card into the host motherboard to place extreme stress on the system's entire PCIe hierarchy. Operating in root complex mode, you simply connect the card to a backplane, and you have full control of all transactions and power states when exercising endpoint devices.
The U4305A Exerciser also supports MR-IOV, which gives you five virtual hierarchies, and SR-IOV environments; therefore, it can be used in a variety of different types of complex shared I/O topologies. The card can generate memory, IO, config, and msg-type transactions and can act as a completer to incoming requests. At the link level there is a built-in LTSSM state machine tester that will exercise the seven states (Detect, Quiet, Configuration, L0, Recover, L0S, and L1), including running both positive and negative test cases to verify state transition timing, timeouts, and recovery mechanisms. By running both the protocol and LTSSM at the same time, we provide complete coverage.
The U4305A protocol checker will catch malformed packets or improper sequencing and output a trigger pulse for use by other analyzers. We support automation using our GUI or APIs written in TCL, Python, C++, and C#. Additionally, the U4305A emulates NVMe for initialization and queue management tests for storage controllers. Powered by an external 15V supply, this standard-height, half-length card can fit into any available PCIe slot on a blade server or industrial PC. Some examples of applications for this product include regression testing of PCIe switches, validating root complex implementation on single-board computers, and assuring reliable low-latency communications in automated systems where deterministic data transfers matter.
