Keysight/Agilent M9374A PXI Vector Network Analyzer
The M9374A is a VNA (vector network analyzer), which is capable of performing full two-port vector network analysis in a single PXIe slot. The M9374A offers complete S parameter measurements (S11, S21, S12 & S22) from 300 kHz to 20 GHz. It has been designed specifically for use in Automated Test Systems (ATS) to measure passive devices, including cables, antennas, connectors & filters, by placing them inside a PXI chassis. As well as providing full S-parameter measurements, the M9374A will also share the same PXI chassis as a switch, signal generator, or other instrument(s) forming a very efficient multi-functional test system. Due to its small size and low power consumption, the M9374A is particularly suited for High Density Production Lines (HDPs) where there is little room for large racks.
Throughput is an essential part of the M9374A specification, with a fast sweep time of 6ms for 201 points. It also offers a large 115dB dynamic range, allowing users to capture detailed transmission and reflection data using signals as they are seen in real-world signal conditions. The maximum output level available on the M9374A is 7 dBm, and trace noise (also known as RMS noise) is 0.003 dB, making it ideal for high throughput, repeatable measurement clarity when making pass/fail decisions based on tight tolerance measurements. In addition, engineers can cascade many modules together for multi-port or multi-site parallel testing without affecting the synchronization of each module, thus increasing the number of tests per minute within the same chassis footprint.
As the frequency requirements of engineers vary widely depending upon their specific needs, scalable frequency options are provided for the M9374A ranging up to 26.5 GHz. Therefore, users do not have to purchase a module that exceeds their bandwidth requirements, resulting in significant cost savings. Additionally, selecting the correct frequency option will help engineers to plan budgets more efficiently for multiple products.
An extensive library of software drivers is also included with the M9374A. They include native IVI-COM, IVI-C, LabVIEW, and MATLAB drivers that enable engineers to easily integrate the module into popular software development platforms. Engineers can quickly develop programs that interface with the M9374A to automate tasks such as filter alignment/verification and antenna matching verification as well as screen thousands of connectors.
