Keysight/Agilent M9120A PXI Matrix Switch
The Keysight M9120A PXI matrix switch module offers a 4 x 32, 2-wire armature relay matrix, which will route your medium-power signals on automated test equipment. Each one of the 128 channels has a maximum of 100 V rms, 2 amps, or 60 watts of total power. This would make this product a good fit for many different types of testing, including telecommunications, aerospace, automotive, and semiconductors, where you need to have both send and receive paths available simultaneously. Due to its high-density single-slot design, the M9120A is able to save rack space when compared to similar products and can be easily expanded by simply adding additional modules. For example, if you were to take four rows of two modules, you would then have a 4 x 64 matrix.
The armature relays used in the M9120A are designed to last long. They have been tested to handle well over ten million low-load cycles and 100,000 cycles at full load. The M9120A also has a relatively fast switching time of about 3 milliseconds, along with an initial differential path resistance of 500 milliohms. Additionally, due to a very low thermal offset of 8 microvolts, the M9120A is well suited for precision measurement, and the 7.5-megahertz bandwidth allows AC signals to be routed with little to no loss. Furthermore, due to their ability to maintain isolation as high as 1 billion ohms at room temperature and humidity (25°C/40% RH), along with maintaining isolation at levels of 1 trillion ohms at slightly warmer temperatures and higher humidity (25°C/80% RH), the M9120A is able to preserve signal quality during multiplexed tests regardless of the environment.
In terms of connecting the M9120A to the D-U-T, there is a rugged 78-pin D-sub female connector. In addition, there is an optional connector block that can be purchased separately and may be required depending on how many pins are required. The M9120A is easy to integrate into your software using IVI-COM, IVI-C, LabVIEW drivers, C/C++/C#, and Visual Basic/MatrixLab. Also, Keysight IO Libraries Suite and Soft Front Panels provide simple ways to configure and control the M9120A. Furthermore, application code examples allow developers to quickly develop a way to automate signal routing in such industries as industrial automation, medical device validation, and electronic functional testing.
