Keysight E3631A Triple Output Power Supply
Keysight E3631A is an 80-watt triple-output DC power supply in a compact package for system and bench applications in applications requiring clean and stable power with programmable control. The instrument contains three independent channels: a 0-to-6 V/5 A channel electrically isolated from the ±25 V/1 A channels, the latter of which can be set to track the former for symmetrical voltage applications. The instrument allows for accurate voltage and current programming with 0.05 percent + 20 mV and 0.15 percent + 4 mA accuracy, respectively, for the safe testing of sensitive circuits. Low normal-mode voltage (<350Vrms) and common-mode current disturbance (<1.5Arms) reduce disturbance in precision test environments and make it ideal for R&D, design verification, and quality assurance applications.
The GPIB and RS-232 interfaces on the E3631A allow automated test system interfacing through SCPI commands with ease in connection with lab stations or production line incorporation. Front-panel control with the user-friendly keypad and rotary knob accommodates rapid parameter setting and three user-defined setups in non-volatile memory and is recalled through simple setup recall sequencing. A less than 50 µsec transient response allows rapid recovery from changes in load needed in dynamic test applications. It does not include remote sensing and overcurrent protection (on higher levels of the model), but it does include overvoltage protection and voltage and current readback monitoring on the front panel with 0.5 mV/0.5 mA resolution.
The 0.01 % line and load regulation maintain output constant with changes in load or input voltage, essential for the reproducibility in electronics verification and industrial automation. Its compact size (213 mm × 133 mm × 348 mm) maximizes available workspace, and dual-range AC input acceptability (100-230 V) maximizes deployment flexibility. Applications include embedded device functional testing and powering analog/digital circuits through to educational labs requiring multi-channel power supplies. The isolated 6 V output maintains cross-talk-free operation between circuits and the ±25 V channels allow dual-rail capability for the testing of operational amplifiers and the like. The 1-year calibration stability specification and compliance with international safety standards provide a price-precision balance and programmability suitable for professional engineering use with the E3631A.
