Keysight/Agilent M9195B PXIe Digital Stimulus/Response Module
The M9195B from Keysight/Agilent is a PXIe Digital Stimulus / Response module with 16 channels. This single-slot PXI instrument has been designed for use in IC design validation test systems as well as production test environments. The module allows for pattern rates up to 250 MHz using Return-To-Zero (RZ) and Non-Return-To-Zero (NRZ) formats. Additionally, the module includes a built-in cyclizer function that will allow the creation of complex waveform patterns using multiple drive edges per cycle, thereby supporting flexible edge placement as well as adjustable stimulus/response delays. Both functions are beneficial for testing timing margins as well as compensating for cable propagation differences.
In addition to creating complex waveform patterns using a cyclizer function, each bidirectional channel has per-pin programmable logic levels ranging from -1.5 volts to +6.5 volts with 152 µV resolution. There is also an Integrated Four-Quadrant Per-Pin Parametric Measurement Unit (PPMU) on each channel that offers Force-Voltage/Measure-Current (FVMI), Force-Current/Measure-Voltage (FIMV), and other operating modes at five current ranges from ±2µA to ±40mA. Each pin can be independently configured for static digital input/output, synchronized cyclized data, or PPMU measurements, thus providing flexibility to mix-and-match different functions. Therefore, this feature of the module makes it ideal for precise leakage measurements, continuity tests, and parametric validation tests without using external instruments. A 16-bit measurement subsystem with selectable 50/60 Hz averaging is also included to reject power line noise for cleaner data.
Memory allocation within the M9195B module from Keysight/Agilent is optimized so that each of the four 4-bit channel banks contains 125 MVectors; however, unused bank memory can be reassigned if needed, therefore providing up to 500 MVectors for narrow bus widths. The module can operate as a single-site operation with sixteen synchronized channels or a multi-site configuration with four independent sites of four channels each, with each site having its own sequencer. In addition, up to twelve modules can be synchronized together via the multi-module option to form 92-channel systems with a typical channel-to-channel skew of ±300 ps. Examples of applications include MIPI RFFE bus emulation for front-end device testing, verification of digital parallel & serial interfaces, backplane emulation, and automated production testing of wireless communication ICs. Furthermore, On-The-Fly Pattern Editing and EDA Import Tools can accelerate development time without recompilation.
