Keysight M9420A VXT PXIe Vector Transceiver
The Keysight M9420A VXT is a four-slot PXIe module that has integrated a vector signal generator as well as a vector signal analyzer all in one instrument, supporting frequencies of 60 MHz to 3.8 GHz or 6 GHz. It supports modulations as well as analysis bandwidth up to 160 MHz; this provides designers with an ability to generate and analyze very wide-band signals for many of today's wireless communication standards. Multiple VXTs may be used in a single 18-slot PXI chassis, using a single M9300A frequency reference. This greatly reduces the complexity of developing multi-channel phase-coherent test systems and also minimizes the physical size of the test systems. The modular nature of the VXT allows engineers to create dense, scalable RF test systems without having to use large benchtop instruments.
The VXT is specifically designed for design validation and production testing of power amplifiers (PAs), front-end modules (FEMs), and radio transceiver devices. In addition, it also meets the increasing demand for IoT-connected device testing, where fast, accurate measurements of both the transmitter and receiver are required. A key reference solution pairs the M9420A with FPGA-accelerated power servos and rapid waveform download, providing quick power amplifier characterization and manufacturing throughput. In addition, automated calibration routines and hardware synchronization of the VXT will simplify your test sequence and reduce overall test time and improve repeatability on the production floor.
In addition to being a standalone instrument, the Keysight M9420A VXT is a member of Keysight’s modular PXI portfolio and can be combined with other PXI instruments to provide custom single-chassis RF test solutions. The specifications for all M9420A are warranted across a wide temperature range after standard warm-up & alignment procedures have been performed. Use of slot blockers and appropriate fan settings will provide thermal stability and extend reliability in high-throughput manufacturing environments. Additionally, its multi-channel phase-coherency capability provides advanced MIMO and beamforming test architectures without external synchronization hardware. As a result, the Keysight M9420A VXT provides engineers with an ability to speed wireless device development and manufacturing while minimizing capital equipment footprint. This approach streamlines lab and production workflows.
