National Instruments SCXI-1382 Battery Pack

The National Instruments SCXI-1382 (Part Numbers: 776577-820, 776577-821) Battery Pack is made to continuously power the SCXI-1000DC chassis in the event that external power sources aren't available. It has a sealed lead-acid battery that runs at 12 V for 20 hours and has a capacity of 26 Ah. This battery pack is especially important for systems like data capture and industrial automation, where constant power is required.

The SCXI-1382 is lightweight and portable, measuring 15.8 × 17.8 x 21.8 cm and weighing 11 kg. It may be kept in a temperature range of -20 to 70°C and works in the 0 to 50°C temperature range. It can also withstand altitudes as high as 2,000 meters and humidity ranges of 10 to 90% RH (noncondensing). It complies with Pollution Degree 2 guidelines and is intended for indoor usage.

This battery pack complies with safety standards such as IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 61010-1, and CSA 61010-1. Along with meeting AS/NZS CISPR 11, EN 61326, EN 55011 (CISPR 11), FCC 47 CFR Part 15B, and ICES-001 standards, it also complies with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements.

Maintaining the performance and extending the life span of the SCXI-1382 battery pack requires regular charging. It requires a power source of 12 to 14 VDC and at least 3.7 A for a minimum of 12 to 14 hours to reach a full charge. The SCXI-1383 power supply/float charger is what National Instruments recommends using for the best possible charging. Because the battery comprises sealed lead-acid and sulfuric acid, charging should take place in a well-ventilated environment to prevent the accumulation of explosive gases.

The battery pack kit SCXI-1382 is available in two configurations; one requires the SCXI-1383, while the other does not. The SCXI-1000DC chassis may run on a fully charged battery for more than five hours, although National Instruments recommends recharging the battery every three hours to prolong its life.
