National Instruments 779334-02 C Series Current Output Module
The National Instruments 779334-02 (NI-9265) is a four-channel C Series analog output module designed to provide current signals for industrial automation and control applications. Each channel provides a 0 to 20 mA output with an update rate of up to 100 kS/s per channel, making the module suitable for applications such as valve control, process control, and other systems that use current-driven actuators.
The module includes open-loop detection to identify output faults and report them to the control software. During startup, the outputs are set to zero to prevent connected devices from responding unexpectedly during system initialization. The NI-9265 requires an external Vsup power supply for operation.
Each output incorporates channel-to-earth double isolation to help protect the module and connected equipment from electrical noise and transient conditions. The outputs also include overvoltage and short-circuit protection. These features make the module suitable for industrial environments where electrical interference and field wiring conditions can vary.
The 779334-02 uses a detachable 10-position screw-terminal connector for field wiring. The four analog output channels are provided with corresponding COM terminals, allowing loads to be connected directly between the AO and COM terminals.
The NI-9265 is compatible with NI CompactRIO and other C Series systems, providing a direct interface for current-controlled field devices in industrial measurement, monitoring, and automation applications.
