National Instruments BW 3023 Interface Module

The NI BW 3023 (Part Number: 783495-01) AS-i Master Interface for CompactRIO connects sensors and actuators to higher level controls. The NI BW 3023 can control, diagnose, as well as configure 31 individual slaves or 62 A/B (two way) slaves. The developer of the BW 3023 module is National Instruments. The NI BW 3023 is built according to the needs of version 3.0 and is also supported in the previous versions like 2.0 and 2.1.

The NI BW 3023 has different locations for fast changing data and slow changing data. The fast input/output data and changing data is in the SPI frame. On the other hand, the data which is rarely used or the slow changing data, resides in the command interface. This AS-i Master Interface for CompactRIO belongs to the NI C Series and is manufactured to meet the European Standards. The NI BW 3023 is designed according to the standards of EN 61000-6-2:2005, IEC 60079-0, ISA 12.12.01: 2013 etc. This module is additionally certified to ISO 9001 standards. This module requires LabVIEW FPGA 2013 or later.

The NI BW 3023 Interface Module has LEDs for different types of features, including the current module status, errors of configuration, faults, and the AS-i Diagnostics. With the help of these indication lights, the machine time can be minimized, or the preventive maintenance can be timely initiated since these LEDs facilitate the standard diagnostics by having the simple detection procedure like configuration error indication lights and the peripheral fault LEDs.
