National Instruments sbRIO-9205 C Series Voltage Input Module

The sbRIO-9205, an analog Voltage Input Module from the C Series, is a product of National Instruments. The NI sbRIO-9205 is available under part number 784787-01. The sbRIO-9205 module is capable of 4 programmable analog input voltage ranges: ±10 V, ±5 V, ±1 V, and ±0.2 V. The NI sbRIO-9205 module provides the option of either 32 single-ended or 16 differential analog voltage signals to be connected to its input channels. The analog-to-digital (ADC) resolution of the sbRIO-9205 is 16-bit with the aggregate sampling frequency of 250 kS/s. Based on the higher sampling speed and number of channels, the NI sbRIO-9205 module is considered a robust, low-priced product for multifunction applications. 

The National Instruments sbRIO-9205 C Series Module belongs to the category of non-enclosed voltage modules with spring terminal front connections. The NI sbRIO-9205 module is designed with the protection feature to withstand overvoltage up to ±30 VDC between channel and COM. Moreover, the NI sbRIO-9205 module is equipped with a double isolation barrier safety feature between channel and earth ground. This characteristic enables the sbRIO-9205 module to be used in applications with a voltage range high common-mode and protects against voltage transients. In addition, the double isolation barrier feature accomplishes noise cancellation during the module’s operation.

The NI sbRIO-9205 C Series Voltage Input Module has two ON-state modes: active mode and sleep mode. In active mode, the maximum power consumption and thermal dissipation by the sbRIO-9205 module is 625 mW each. While in sleep mode, the sbRIO-9205 module consumes only 15 mW power and dissipates only 15 mW heat.
