Keysight/Agilent 66101A DC Power Module
Keysight/Agilent 66101A is a DC power module for use with the 66000A Modular Power System, a modular scalable system that can be tailored for automated test and production applications. When integrated into an 8-slot mainframe as part of this system, the 66101A enables the combined DC power output capability of up to 1200 W for all modules. This module provides a 0 to 8 V range of voltage and 0 to 16 A range of current, with a 128 W maximum power output under up to 40°C conditions. It has a compact, modular form factor to provide maximum use of rack space while providing dynamic reconfiguration via front-accessed, quick-disconnect connectors that do not require recabling upon module replacement.
With accuracy in mind, the 66101A provides voltage programming accuracy of 0.03% + 3 mV and current programming accuracy of 0.03% + 6 mA at 25°C ±5°C. Readback accuracy achieved via GPIB or the built-in keyboard display reinforces measurement reliability and exhibits voltage and current accuracies of 0.02% + 2 mV and 0.02% + 6 mA, respectively. The module provides stable operation with low noise and ripple, 2 mV RMS and 5 mV peak-to-peak in constant voltage mode. The transient response time of less than 1 ms enables fast recovery for 100 mV of the setpoint after load current changes, which is essential to ensure stable performance at dynamic test application conditions.
Its advanced features consist of programmable over-current and over-voltage protection, electronic calibration, and user-definable power-on states. The 66101A DC Power Module offers output sequencing, storing up to 20 sets of voltage, current, and dwell-time changes to accelerate test sequences. Compatibility with the GPIB interface guarantees simple integration into automated systems, while the serial link option offers control of as many as 16 outputs with one GPIB address when combined with auxiliary mainframes. Remote sensing makes up for voltage drops in load leads, improving regulation accuracy.
66101A is particularly suited to applications involving high precision power delivery, for example, semiconductor testing, subassembly validation, and base station simulation. It manages to blend flexibility with rugged performance characteristics. Its synchronous multi-module operating capability renders it a highly adaptable solution for those environments requiring scalable, high-efficiency power solutions without the compromise on speed and reliability.
