As a member of the PXIe-1073 series, the National Instruments 781161-01 PXI Chassis is designed to meet a variety of test and measurement needs. With its three hybrid slots and two PXI Express slots, this five-slot chassis allows for up to 250 MB/s of data transfer. It is appropriate for desktop and portable computers because of its sturdy and compact design, which guarantees durability and adaptability.

This chassis offers great flexibility for several configurations, supporting 3U PXI Express, CompactPCI Express, and hybrid slot compatible PXI-1/CompactPCI (PICMG EXP.0 R1.0) modules. Its integrated MXI-Express controller improves performance and streamlines connectivity. With its universal AC input, the 781161-01 can accept an input voltage range of 100–240 VAC and an operating voltage range of 90–264 VAC. With a typical input voltage and a full load, the chassis performs at approximately 70% efficiency with a frequency span of 50/60 Hz and a working range of 47–63 Hz.

Forced air circulation, with a 126 CFM fan that has adjustable High/Auto speed levels to reduce noise, is an efficient method of managing cooling. The 781161-01 chassis has an air intake at the bottom and an exhaust along the top, right side, and rear. The per-slot cooling capacity is 38.25 W. The forced air circulation system used by the power supply cooling system ensures ideal thermal management by placing the exhaust at the back and the intake at the front.

The 781161-01 chassis contains an On/Standby momentary power switch on the front panel for user convenience, making it simple to control the internal power source. While the front-panel switch controls the internal power supply for the CompactPCI/PXIbackplane, the AC power cable facilitates the power disconnect, offering the primary power disconnect.

With its optional carrying handle and rack-mountable features, the chassis's structural design places a strong emphasis on use and mobility. This chassis is appropriate for locations where noise level is a concern because of the AUTO/HIGH temperature-controlled fan speed, which is dependent on air-intake temperature and guarantees silent operation.
