National Instruments sbRIO-9642XT Single Board OEM Device

The sbRIO-9642XT (part number: 781244-01) is a Single Board OEM Device from National Instruments designed with a Xilinx Spartan-3 Reconfigurable FPGA. The IEC 1131-2 standard provides protection for the device against short-circuit, inrush, and overcurrent situations. On the NI sbRIO-9642XT, each digital output channel features circuitry designed to guard against surges in voltage and current that are caused by short circuits.

This device boasts 32 single-ended (or 16 differential) analog input channels with an ADC resolution of 16 bits. In addition, there are 4 analog output channels that have 16 bits of DAC resolution. The Digital I/O of the sbRIO-9642XT includes 32 sinking digital input channels and 32 sourcing digital output channels. The input voltage from an external power supply ranges from 6 – 35 VDC.

There are 4 LED Indicators on the sbRIO-9642XT. The FPGA LED makes it simple to check the state of your program, and may be used to assist in debugging it. The USER LED can be define in order to match the demands of the user’s application. The POWER LED indicated when the OEM device is switched on, and it displays the stability of the 3.3 V and 5 V rails. Lastly, the STATUS LED displays when all aspects of the sbRIO-9642XT are running normally. When error conditions arise, the LED indicates the issue by flashing a specific amount of times. 

The single board device operates with a 10BaseT and 100BaseTX Ethernet network interface that is compatible with IEEE 802.3. The communication rates, either 10 or 100 Mbps, are auto-negotiated. Designed for indoor use only, the sbRIO-9642XT has an operating temperature of –40 to 85 °C with a noncondensing relative humidity of 10 to 90%. The storage temperature is the same as the operating temperature, but the storage conditions have a slightly wider noncondensing relative humidity range of 5 to 95%. 

Designed for use in diverse environmental conditions, the sbRIO-9642XT can be used in altitudes up to 2,000 m and is rated for a pollution degree of 2. Lightweight and easy to use, the device weighs only 292.0 g (10.3 oz).
