National Instruments sbRIO-9697 Two-slot C Series RIO Mezzanine Card   

The NI sbRIO-9697 (Part Number: 783883-01) is a C Series RIO Mezzanine Card with two slots that is intended to communicate with the NI sbRIO-9607/9627 devices. Its main purpose is to enable the connecting of these sbRIO devices to up to two board-only C Series modules, hence increasing their variety and functionality in industrial automation applications. Twenty-four digital input/output (DIO) channels are available on this mezzanine card, giving users flexibility for a range of control and monitoring activities. Every channel functions at 3.3 V and has a maximum tested current capacity of ±3 mA.

In order to provide compatibility with various signal sources, the input logic levels vary from 0 V to 0.8 V for low and 2.0 V to 5.25 V for high. For output, the card maintains a voltage range of 2.4 V to 3.465 V for high when sourcing 3 mA and 0.0 V to 0.4 V for low when sinking 3 mA. This ensures reliable signal transmission and compatibility with downstream devices. Installation and assembly are straightforward, with torque specifications provided for securing the card in place. The card itself is lightweight, weighing only 82.8 g (2.92 oz), minimizing additional load on the system. The sbRIO-9697 contains features for thermal validation, as thermal concerns are critical in industrial settings.
