National Instruments DAQCard-AI-16E-4 Multifunction I/O Card

The DAQCard-AI-16E-4 is a Multifunction Input/Output Card produced for PCMCIA slots manufactured by National Instruments. The NI DAQCard-AI-16E-4 is available for order with part number 777230-01. The DAQCard-AI-16E-4 comes from the DAQCard E Series. This card can be programmed with NI-DAQ drivers. The DAQCard-AI-16E-4 is used with application software like VirtualBench, Measure, LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Lookout. The operating systems compatible with the DAQCard-AI-16E-4 are Windows NT/2000/Me/9x. The device hardware can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool. The NI DAQCard-AI-16E-4 is prepared to deliver high performance and secure DAQ facilities to multiple types of applications. This Multifunction I/O Card features 16 single-ended analog input channels. These channels can also be programmed to be used as 16 single-ended, 16 pseudo-differential or 8 differential input channels. The input terminals of the DAQCard-AI-16E-4 are DC coupled. The DAQCard-AI-16E-4 has a single-channel scanning rate up to 500 kS/s, while the multiple channel scanning rate is 250 kS/s. This card’s scanning rate depends on the type of hard drive of the computer it is used with. The DAQCard-AI-16E-4 performs with 12-bit resolution. This card has a PCMCIA 68-position female I/O connector and is a Type II PC Card.

This Multifunction I/O Card is designed with 8 digital input/output triggering lines of standard TTL with 5 V as a voltage source. The DAQCard-AI-16E-4 is capable of analog as well as digital triggering. The NI DAQCard-AI-16E-4 is built with two up/down counters/timers and 1 frequency scaler. The resolution for the timers/counters is 24-bit resolution. This Multifunction I/O Card has an input voltage range from ±0.05 V to ±10 V. The NI device has a power requirement of 280 mA typical and 400 mA maximum in operational mode, and 70 mA in power down mode–all at +5 VDC.

The DAQCard-AI-16E-4 has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of 0° to 55° C and –55° to 150° C respectively, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 5% to 90%. The NI device is designed to comply with the following electrical safety standards: IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 61010-1, and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 61010-1.
