National Instruments FP-AI-C020 Analog Input Module
The NI FP-AI-C020 is a 0 to 20 mA Analog Input Module by National Instruments. This module features two channels and offers 12-bit resolution measurements. Both channels come with a programmable filter with a selectable 20 Hz or 100 Hz bandwidth. Moreover, the two channels share a common reference point and operate with an input impedance of 133Ω. The NI FP-AI-C020 is designed for the FP-TB-10 terminal base that can accommodate as many as six dual-channel modules.
This Analog Input Module offers maximum flexibility. Thus, users can customize their FieldPoint system according to their requirements. In addition, the FP-TB-10 terminal base allows the user to operate with a mix of standard eight channel, sixteen channels, and this dual channel Analog Input Module. This Analog Input Module is designed for RTD, thermocouple, mA, and millivolt and voltage signals.
The National Instruments FP-AI-C020 is offered with a 12-bit ADC, signal conditioning and intra module optical isolation. For different applications where channel-to-channel isolation or differential inputs are required, the user can utilize one channel per module as well. As far as its accuracy performance is concerned, the FP-AI-C020 offers ±0.075% accuracy (at 25 oC). This module comes with input protection set at 38 mA.
Hot swapping the NI FP-AI-C020 is possible when the user replaces it with another dual-channel module of similar specifications. Such swapping and insertion of modules will not interrupt or disturb the already live and operating FieldPoint infrastructure’s operation. Moreover, the system will automatically configure the newly added module as the previous module.
