The NI-7935 (Part number: 783766-01) Controller for FlexRIO has many useful features, including but not limited to: 2 GB onboard FPGA-accessible DRAM, a NI Linux Real-Time (32-bit) operating system, SFP+ high-speed serial connectivity with rates of 3.125 Gbps, 6.25 Gbps, and 10.3125 Gbps, and a Xilinx Kintex-7 K410T FPGA. This FlexRIO Controller is ideal for high performance data streaming and processing.

The NI-7935R FlexRIO Controller’s programmable FPGA and embedded processor are enhanced for applications in the field involving embedded signal processing and advanced I/O features. The processor on the NI-7935 runs National Instruments Linux Real-Time. This Controller features a high-speed serial interface that allows users to develop their own protocol IP or reuse existing parameters.  The NI 7935 FlexRIO Controller can be combined with FlexRIO Digitizer Adapter Modules to create a high-performance device with user-programmable firmware. The result is an instrumentation targeted at industry professionals who research and develop patented products in such fields as communications, industrial machinery, ultrasound, radar, spectrum analysis, and medical imaging.

The clocking architecture of this Controller provides flexible options. Clocking solutions for this hardware include a default 40 MHz Onboard Clock, 156.25 MHz Clock/312.5 MHz MGT Clock, 10 MHz Reference Clock, and DRAM Clock. The dual core processor on the NI 7935 functions at speeds up to 667 MHz and provides real-time clock accuracy at 5 ppm. The real-time processor allows data transfers at 60 MB/s to USB external storage and at 12.0 MB/s to SD external (read only) storage.
