National Instruments PXI-7951 PXI FPGA Module for FlexRIO

The PXI-7951 (Part Number: 780560-01) FPGA Module for FlexRIO with FPGA Virtex 5 LX30 offers adaptable and customized I/O for LabVIEW FPGA. It incorporates 132 I/O lines from a single terminal, configurable as 66 differential sets. The user can join the PXI-7951 with the FlexRIO connector modules that offer elite, simple, and computerized I/O. Together, the two modules make a reconfigurable instrument that can be programmed with LabVIEW FPGA software.

The PXI-7951 FlexRIO FPGA Modules incorporate Xilinx Virtex-5 SXT FPGA with up to 512 MB of built-in DRAM, which can achieve data transfer capacities up to 3.2 GB/s. Notwithstanding the universally useful reconfigurable logic, the SXT FPGAs are enhanced for fast digital signal processing (DSP), with up to 640 DSP portions for single-cycle multiplication and filtering capacities. PXI Express NI FlexRIO FPGA modules additionally include the NI-particular application's STC-3 integrated circuit (ASIC) to give an improved, high-transmission capacity PCI Express communication x4 connection to the backplane of the PXI Express chassis. This ASIC decreases the FPGA resources expected to implement host communications and empowers the new information transfer technology in the unique point-to-point transmission feature.

With NI point-to-point information transmission technology, the user can consistently exchange information to and from the NI FlexRIO FPX modules of PXI Express at speeds over 800 MB/s with minimum latency. The elite information switches in the NI PXI Express chassis offer high-transmission capacity communication and routing information starting with one module straightforwardly then onto the next (without exchanging information through the host controller).

PXI-7951 Mature Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
