The NI PXIe-PCIe8375 (Part Number: 781039-01) enables users to directly control PXI Express systems with cabled PCI Express technology. The NI PXIe-PCIe8375 consists of a PCIe-8375 board in a PC, which is linked to a PXIe-8375 in slot 1 of a PXI Express chassis with an x4 MXI-Express fiber-optic cable. The user can choose to buy the kit with all required parts included for convenience or they can buy them each individually. The MXI-Express x4 high-bandwidth serial link has the capability to utilize high-performance desktop computers, servers, and workstations to control PXI Express systems. This NI MXI-Express Kit has compatibility with NI rack-mount controllers, as well as Dell and Hewlett-Packard computers.
With the use of the fiber-optic National Instruments PXIe-PCIe8475 MXI-Express Kit, the user can electrically separate their PXI Express measurement hardware from their PC with extended length cabling to 100 m maximum. The PCIe-8375 offers a single cabled PCI Express link; the link width is x4. A link contains four x1 PCI Express lanes. The PXIe-8375 joins the PCI Express link to the PCI Express bus utilized in the PXI Express chassis backplane. The outcome is that all PXI and PXI Express modules show up as PCI boards in the computer.
