National Instruments PS-3 DC Power Supply

Featured with a universal IEC power input, the NI PS-3 (Part Numbers:  777585-01, 777585-02, 777585-03, 777585-04, 777585-05, and 777585-06) is a legacy DC Power Supply. This model is designed to provide 13.8 VDC and 55 watts of power at its output terminals. Since it is a universal Power Supply, the PS-3 can be operated over an input range of 90 to 264 VAC. For 12 volt DC batteries this Power Supply can also be used as a float charger. The National Instruments PS-3 is designed as a power brick since it comes with the internal gear packed in a case identical to an AC plug.

This Power Supply is specifically designed to fulfill Compact FieldPoint system power requirements.  A single PS-3 can provide adequate power to energize one bank of FieldPoint I/O modules (or eight I/O modules). The installation of this model is simple because its output can be directly inserted into the power jack of the FieldPoint terminal. The National Instruments PS-3 is known for its safety performance, which is a function of its integrated safety mechanisms. Tripping and lockout mechanisms of the Power Supply block the path of faults with the potential to travel from load to source.

The NI PS-3 does not require any external cooling. The National Instruments PS-3 DC Power Supply cannot be operated in either parallel or series arrangement with other supplies. Although it is a Power Supply from the National Instruments, the user can utilize it with other devices where similar ratings are required.
