The NI PCMCIA-232/2 is offered with specially designed software solutions, such as a Windows-based driver that can help you in the installation and customization of your devices. This device functions based on serial communication protocols. The PCMCIA-232/2 is designed to comply with the RS232 serial hardware specifications. The driver utility offered with this device enables you to access and adjust certain hardware characteristics of your PCMCIA card.
The NI PCMCIA-232/2 has a tendency to operate with maximum achievable baud rate or transmission rate over link distances up to 50 ft. However, the quality of communication and the maximum achievable transmission rate can be assured by using a high-quality cable. The NI PCMCIA-232/2 is an ideal solution for a broad range of applications, since you can use this device to access and control almost every device with serial hardware communication capability.
The utilization of a 16650 UART receiver and transmitter makes this device capable of working with almost every notebook computer with a PCMCIA port. The FIFO buffers provided for the transmitter and receiver of the NI PCMCIA-232/2 can be enabled or disabled through software. In addition, you can adjust various parameters of your device through Microsoft Windows. This device can be used with the NI-Serial driver software.
PCMCIA-232/2 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the device will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
