National Instruments 780414-01 RF Vector Signal Analyzer
Designed specifically for automated testing, NI part number 780414-01 (Model Name: PXIe-5663) is an RF vector signal analyzer ideal for automated RF measurements that offers instantaneous bandwidth enhancement. The 780414-01 part number does NOT refer to a singular device. It instead refers to the combined use of the 3.3 GHz PXIe-5651 Signal Generator and the PXIe-5601 RF Downconverter Module with part number 780412-01 of the PXIe-5622 IF Digitizer.
Equipped with 64 MB of onboard memory, the multiple combined modules that make up this vector signal analyzer can perform routine automated measurements far more quickly than conventional instruments. For example, the device can be used with LabVIEW for software-defined measurements, allowing the user to complete conventional spectrum and modulation tests up to 30 times faster. This ability to quickly make standard spectrum analysis measurements is also aided by the processing capability of multicore CPUs. The NI-RFSA driver software is required for the 780412-01 to operate properly, which can be installed with the LabVIEW or LabWindow/CVI application development environments.
Most of the connectors for the modules that make up the vector signal analyzer are SMA/SMA Female connector types. One exception is the PFI 1 connector on the PXIe-5622 IF Digitizer, which is an SMB connector type.
When it comes to physical dimensions, each module that makes up the 780414-01 measures 8.5 in. x 0.8 in. x 5.1 in. (21.6 cm x 2.0 cm x 13.0 cm). The total weight of the combined unit is 43.9 oz (1,245 g). Designed for indoor use only, the vector signal analyzer has a warm-up time of 30 minutes and should be operated in environmental conditions where the ambient temperature ranges from 0 to 55 °C with a relative humidity range of 10% to 90%. When not in use, it can be safely stored in environments where the temperature range spans from –41 to 71 °C and the relative humidity range is 5% to 95%. Both humidity ranges should be noncondensing.
