National Instruments PXIe-5663E MIMO Ext PXI Vector Signal Analyzer

The PXIe-5663E MIMO Ext (Part Numbers: 780486-11, 780486-01, 780486-02) from National Instruments is the version of the PXIe-5663E Vector Signal Analyzer that features a versatile Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) Extension. This analyzer is not a single device- it combines the functionalities of three interconnected NI modules to offer powerful performance from one convenient place. The three modules that combine to become the PXIe-5663E MIMO Ext are the PXIe-5601, the PXIe-5622, and the PXIe-5652. These modules are an RF Signal Downconverter, an IF Digitizer, and an RF Analog Signal Generator respectively. Featuring a frequency range that spans from 10 MHz to 6.6 GHz, the PXIe-5663E MIMO Ext provides diverse functionality for a wide range of test and measurement applications.

The three part numbers of the PXIe-5663E MIMO Ext differ in their onboard memory size. Part number 780486-02 is equipped with 64 MB of RAM, while part number 780486-01 boasts 256 MB of RAM. Part number 780486-11 also features 256 MB of RAM, but it stands out with the addition of an enhanced RF Downconverter. The MIMO extension technology of the PXIe-5663E MIMO Ext utilizes a variety of transmitters and receivers, allowing an increased amount of data to be transferred simultaneously. Data streams from multiple routes and various times are combined, resulting in increased reception signal strength. 

The front panels of the modules that interconnect to become the NI PXIe-5663E MIMO Ext feature SMA connector types, with the exception of the PF1 port of the PXIe-5622 which utilizes a SMB connector. Designed for indoor use only, this vector signal analyzer should be operated in environments where the temperatures remain within a range of 0 °C to 55 °C. When not in use, it can be safely stored within a temperature range of -40 °C to 71 °C. Each individual module that makes up the NI PXIe-5663E MIMO Ext is a one slot 3U PXIe module that measures 21.6 cm × 2.0 cm × 13.0 cm (8.5 in. × 0.8 in. × 5.1 in.) in dimensions. As a combined unit, the analyzer weighs a total of 1,245 g (43.9 oz).
