The National Instruments 780292-01 is a replacement power supply and fan shuttle designed specifically for the NI PXIe-1075 18-slot PXI Express chassis. This modular field-replaceable unit combines the chassis AC power supply, cooling fans, and fan-control electronics into a single assembly, simplifying maintenance and reducing system downtime. Its hot-swappable design allows the unit to be replaced quickly without specialized tools, helping minimize mean time to repair (MTTR) when a power or cooling component requires service. The 780292-01 is intended exclusively for the PXIe-1075 chassis and is not designed for use with other NI chassis models.
The shuttle supports universal AC input, automatically accommodating 100–120 VAC or 220–240 VAC mains power. It provides multiple DC outputs to support the chassis, including +3.3 V at 60 A, +5 V at 48 A, +12 V at 62 A, -12 V at 4 A, and +5 V auxiliary power at 2 A. Push-reset overcurrent protection provides an additional layer of protection against electrical faults. Fan operation is regulated using temperature sensing, allowing cooling performance to increase or decrease as required while helping minimize unnecessary acoustic noise. Remote power monitoring and inhibit functions are accessible through the rear-panel connector, while a front-panel LED provides a visual indication of power-supply faults.
The 780292-01 is intended to help maintain availability in demanding PXIe-1075 test, measurement, and automation systems. The platform provides up to 4 Gb/s of total bandwidth, 1 Gb/s of dedicated bandwidth per slot, and cooling capacity of up to 38 W per slot. The chassis complies with the PXI-5 PXI Express Hardware Specifications, making a compatible replacement power and cooling assembly important for maintaining system performance.
With its modular construction, hot-swap capability, temperature-controlled cooling, and broad AC input range, the 780292-01 is well suited as a spare or replacement component for high-throughput automated test and measurement systems.
