National Instruments 780322-01 Replacement Power Supply and Fan Shuttle
The National Instruments 780322-01 is a replacement power supply and fan shuttle for the eight-slot NI PXIe-1082 chassis. The module combines AC-to-DC power conversion, two cooling fans, and the associated control circuitry into a single replaceable unit. Its modular design allows the power supply and fan assembly to be replaced at the installation site, helping minimize system downtime.
The 780322-01 accepts universal AC input from 90 to 260 VAC at 47 to 63 Hz. It includes a 10 A push-reset circuit breaker and provides remote power monitoring and inhibit functions through a 9-pin D-Sub connector on the rear panel. A fan-mode switch allows the user to select either Max or Auto operation. In Auto mode, the fan speed adjusts automatically based on the intake air temperature.
The power supply provides up to 507 W of total DC output across the +3.3 VDC, +5 VDC, +12 VDC, -12 VDC, and +5 VDC auxiliary rails. Line regulation is maintained within ±0.2% on the +3.3 VDC rail and ±0.1% on the +5 VDC and -12 VDC rails. Typical efficiency is 70%. The system slot supports up to 140 W, while each peripheral slot supports up to 38 W.
A front-panel LED provides an indication of power supply faults. The same indicator can also signal an over-temperature condition detected by an internal temperature sensor within the module.
The 780322-01 is designed for applications where reliable chassis operation and easy serviceability are important, including industrial automation, aerospace test systems, and high-channel-count data acquisition. It provides its rated 507 W output across an operating temperature range of -20°C to 55°C and supports the power requirements of PXI Express modules, including high-bandwidth backplane communication and synchronized timing.
