National Instruments PXI-2590 Multiplexer Switch Module
Featured with non-terminated, high-bandwidth relays, the National Instruments NI PXI-2590 (Part Number: 777987-01) is a 4-Channel, 1.3 GHz bandwidth multiplexer switch module for use in automated measurements. This switch module is designed to switch signals from DC to 1.3 GHz, with a characteristic impedance of 50 ohm. The relays utilized in the construction of this module are the electromechanical, non-latching type, featuring 15 ms typical operating and release time. The relays are designed to last 5,000,000 mechanical and 100,000 electrical cycles.
The NI PXI-2590 offers 24 V maximum switching voltage (channel-to-ground and channel-to-channel), 1 A maximum switching current, 1 A maximum carry current, and 24 Watts maximum switching power. In the initial phase of the relay’s life, the DC path resistance remains <0.1 Ω. It rises gradually, and a maximum of >1 Ω could be expected at the end of the relay’s life.
This multiplexer switch module tends to receive trigger signals through PXI trigger lines 0-7 and STAR at a 70 ns minimum pulse width. It can output trigger signals at 1 µs through PXI trigger lines 0 - 7. The National Instruments NI PXI-2590 features 5 x SMB jacks as I/O connectors. As far as its physical characteristics are concerned, this product weighs around 245 g and has physical dimensions of 3 cm × 10 cm × 16 cm. This general-purpose switch module has a maximum rated voltage and maximum rated current of 24 VDC and 1 A, respectively.
The PXI-2590 is run using the NI-SWITCH driver software, which is compatible with application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabVIEW Real-Time Module, or LabWindows/CVI.
The device has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 °C to 50 °C, a storage temperature range of –20 °C to 70 °C, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 5% to 85%. The module is designed to comply with the following electrical safety standards: IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 3111-1, UL 61010B-1, and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1.
