National Instruments 786016-01 Programmable Power Supply Device

The National Instruments 786016-01 is a versatile programmable DC power supply designed for high performance testing environments. It is also known as the RMX-4104. This model is housed in a compact 2U rackmount design. it is ideal for test systems that require a single power source delivering significant power output. This unit provides a maximum power of 864 W with voltage options supporting up to 100 VDC or current output as high as 40 A. This power flexibility makes it suitable for a wide range of industrial and laboratory applications that require multiple power rails capable of delivering hundreds of watts.

The 786016-01 model offers ease of use for various user needs and is equipped with both interactive and remote control features. The front panel includes buttons and knobs that allow interactive users to manually adjust voltage and current settings. For remote or automated use, it supports USB, LAN, RS232, and analog control interfaces. This provides the capability to integrate into automated test systems seamlessly. 

This power supply meets stringent international standards, including UL, IEC and EN safety certifications. It features a wide input voltage range of 85 - 265 VAC that makes it compatible with global power standards. It provides high efficiency with ratings of up to 87 % that contributes to energy savings and reduces thermal output during extended operation.

The NI 786016-01 supports both constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) modes. This ensures that users can configure the device to meet specific testing or operational requirements. The programmable over-voltage and under-voltage protections along with foldback protection. With analog voltage programming and monitoring, users can remotely control the output and monitor the operation through external signals.

The 786016-01 power supply operates in a broad range of conditions including temperatures from 0 °C to 50 °C at full load and humidity levels between 20 – 90 % RH without condensation. Its cooling system is based on forced air that ensures stable performance even at high output levels. The power supply is designed to withstand altitudes up to 3000 meters with appropriate de-rating applied to ensure consistent performance in varied environments.
