National Instruments 776572-41 Lowpass Filter Input Module

Part Number 776572-41 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments SCXI-1141 Lowpass Filter Input Module. This module is typically used for lowpass filtering and antialiasing applications as well as general purpose signal amplification and filtering. 

The 776572-41 features 8 differential-input amplifiers and 8 elliptic lowpass filters. The output signal range of the module is  ±5 V. Likewise, the channel gains may be tuned to 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, or 100 through software. The input overvoltage protection during the powered on and powered off state are ±30 V and ±15 V respectively. 

The filter present in the 776572-41 features switched capacitors with prefilters and postfilters. The rolloff rate of the filter is 135 dB/octave while the cutoff frequency range is between 10 Hz to 25 KHz. Note that the module allows software-selectable cutoff choices that are divided from 100 KHz or the external clock (resulting in frequencies like 25 KHz, 20 KHz, 16.7 KHz, 14.3 KHz, etc.). As for the system noise, the total harmonic distortion is -70 dB at 1 KHz  and -60 dB at 0-25 KHz.

The 776572-41 measures 1.2 by 6.8 by 8.0 in. in physical dimensions and weighs 22.0 oz. As for I/O connectors, it features a 50-pin male ribbon cable as rear connector and a 96-pin DIN C male front connector. The maximum voltage between channel to earth and channel to channel is ±5 V and ±10 V respectively and both are under Measurement Category I. The module requires the NI-DAQmx driver and programs can be developed using application development environments like LabVIEW.

The recommended temperature range for the operation of the 776572-41 is 0 °C to 50 °C at a relative humidity of up to 10% to 90% RH. Likewise, the device is only meant to be used within a maximum altitude of 2000m. On the other hand, it can be stored at -20 to 70 °C. The device meets the following safety standards for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use: IEC 61010-1, EN-61010-1, UL 61010-1, and CSA 61010-1.
