National Instruments SCXI-1120 Voltage Input Module
The NI SCXI 1120 (Part Number: 776572-20) is an ideal affordable solution for the signal conditioning and isolation of several signal types, including: thermocouple, current, volt, millivolt signals, and 4 to 20 mA sources or 0 to 20 mA process-current sources with high common-mode voltages. The SCXI-1120 can also measure strain gauges, RTDs, and thermistors if external excitation is used. This module has eight isolated input channels with 250 Vrms working isolation, along with a few different input ranges. The channels can be separately configured via jumpers. Each of the eight channels additionally has a configurable lowpass filter of 4 Hz or 10 kHz. This Voltage Input Module also has a parallel mode operation for high scanning rates.
To begin using the NI SCXI-1120, the user needs a computer, a DAQ Device or the SCXI-1200, and either an SCXI-1000, SCXI-1000DC, SCXI-1001, or SCXI-2000 Chassis. The user can also optionally utilize an SCXI terminal block/connector assembly. The SCXI-1120 module has two output modes: parallel-output mode with all eight input channels linked in parallel to eight DAQ device channels or multiplexed-output mode with the eight channels multiplexed into one DAQ device channel.
For Revision A and B of the SCXI-1120 Voltage Input Module, jumper W42 is not utilized. When Revision A and B of the module are cabled to a DAQ device, then the user can only access the MISO line in a single chassis. For Revision C and later of the SCXI-1120, jumpers W42 and W43 can be left in position 1.
SCXI-1120 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
