National Instruments VXIpc-650B/233 Embedded VXI Controller

The National Instruments VXIpc-650B/233 is a B-Size, MMX VXIbus Controller from the VXIpc-600B Series. This model comes equipped with a 233 MHz Pentium processor, IDE hard drive, and up to 128 MB of SDRAM. The NI VXIpc-650B/233 is known for its unique design that makes it a fully PC-compatible controller for VXI systems. This model is an upgraded version of the NI VXIpc-650B/166. Both devices are completely identical in terms of hardware resources and physical attributes with the microprocessor being the only difference. 

In its default configuration, this Controller is equipped with 16 or 32 MB of SDRAM. However, users can upgrade the RAM according to their requirements. The NI VXIpc-650B/233 creates a robust and cost-effective VXI control solution when used with the VXI-1200 FlexFrame. This Embedded VXI Controller is an embedded PC that contains various logic blocks, such as System I/O, SCSI, Ethernet, GPIB, IDE, Video, etc. In the factory configuration, the device is delivered to be installed in Slot 0 of the VXIbus mainframe. However, its automatic system controller slot detection allows the deployment of the module in any slot. If you intend to use your VXIpc-650B/233 as a non-system controller, then you can defeat the automatic-detection circuitry.  

This Embedded VXI Controller comes with redundant sources to generate CLK10 signals. When installed in slot 0 of the mainframe, the NI VXIpc-650B/233 generates the VXIbus CLK10 signal from its internal sources. The External CLK10 connector can be used for sending or receiving CLK10 signals in scenarios where multiple VXI mainframes are used. 

VXIpc-650B/233 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the VXI controller will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
