Pickering 40-630-022-D/32/1 PXI Multiplexer Module
The Pickering 40-630-022-D/32/1 is a PXI multi-switcher module that offers a high-density multiplexing solution for test and data acquisition systems. This unit contains two 32-channel single-pole (SP) switches and can be used as two separate 32:1 switchers in a single PXI slot. Each of these two switches utilizes a ruthenium sputter reed relay, which provides an extremely reliable contact mechanism over a long period of operation and maintains low contact resistance to ensure very accurate switching of low-level signals.
The Pickering 40-630-022-D/32/1 is integrated into the design of many test and data acquisition systems, as it allows for the selection of multiple input sources to be connected to a single output device (instrument), or for multiple devices to share the same input source. In addition to its function as a multiplexer, the architecture also has a "break before make" switching action, thus eliminating any possibility of short-circuiting the signal paths. Also, the 40-630-022-D/32/1 automatically isolates each of the two switching banks from each other by connecting only the selected bank to the common terminal, therefore minimizing the capacitive loading and leakage associated with larger systems.
As a result of the rugged design of the front panel connector, the 68-pin micro-D connector can provide years of service in even the harshest environments. The PXI Multiplexer Module has a fast switching time and a bandwidth greater than 10 MHz, making it capable of switching DC and moderate AC signals. In addition, it can handle switching voltage levels up to 150 VDC and current levels up to 1.2 A. The 40-630-022-D/32/1 is fully compliant with all industry standards for PXI, Compact PCI, and Hybrid PXI Express chassis, as well as Pickering's LXI Modular Chassis. The 40-630-022-D/32/1 has comprehensive software support available, including IVI, VISA, and Kernel Drivers to allow for seamless integration with popular development tools such as LabVIEW, TestStand, and MATLAB, which will enable quick configuration and control of test systems and automate functional testing.
