Pickering 42-682B-002 PXIe Solid-State Multiplexer
The Pickering 42-682B-002 PXIe Multiplexer is a high-density module that is deployed to adapt to different test configurations for different test targets or where a test system may have to be reconfigured. During configuration settings, all relay control information is logged into a text file, which can be reused in a programming environment.
The Pickering PXIe module offers 250 mA hot- or cold-switching and a maximum of ±40 V switching. For full voltage, signal sources that are to be switched must be fully isolated from the mains supply and safety earth. The high-performance solid-state switching allows for a service life of over ten years. Switches allow the multiplexer banks to be set in 1- or 2-pole mode, and inter-bank switching enables the channel count to be increased up to a maximum of 128. The module's versatile architecture allows all multiplexer banks to be interlinked, and common connections are used as extra signal inputs. Isolation switching is supported. Isolation switching connects only the currently active multiplexer bank to the analog common, keeping capacitive loading and leakage currents in large multiplexer systems to a minimum. The multiplexer's bandwidth is 1 MHz.
The 42-682B-002 PXIe multiplexer includes a relay cycle counting feature. The number of operations per contact is stored on the module and can be used to determine if a relay is approaching end-of-life. With this information, system connections can be revised so that signals applied to heavily used contracts are swapped with lightly used contacts to prolong the working life of the relays. The 42-682B-002 PXIe multiplexer can be customized to include alternative relay types, a mixture of relay types, an alternative number of relays, and different performance specifications.
Drivers for Windows and Linux and support for real-time systems are included with this module. The operating temperature for the Pickering multiplexer ranges from 0 °C to 55 °C, while the storage and transport temperature range is -20 °C to 75 °C. This module can withstand humidity levels up to 90% non-condensing in both operating and storage environments.
