Pickering 40-170-001 High Power PXI Relay Module
The Pickering 40-170-001 is a high power PXI relay module with reliable switching capability. It uses two SPST relays that support heavy industrial loads effectively. The module handles power tasks and ensures stable operation in rigorous automation environments. It provides a maximum cold switching current rating of 30 A at rated voltage and supports 30 Vs DC or 250 V AC across each relay channel. This unit maintains consistent relay integrity during both resistive DC loads and resistive AC loads. The 40-170-001 module delivers a hot switching capacity of 7500 VA for AC applications and supports 900 W for DC switching which enables reliable operation under load. Its minimum switching capacity of 100 mA at 5 V ensures precise control. The module features a maximum standoff voltage of 600 V DC for enhanced insulation stability and its initial on path resistance of 0.100 Ohms supports efficient conduction through each relay. The off-path resistance greater than 1 x 108 ohms ensures excellent isolation during switching.
The relay module 40-170-001 has a 10 MHz bandwidth which supports effective signal behavior within power applications. It activates in 30 ms to allow controlled timing within automated switching sequences. The relay life expectancy exceeds ten million operations for DC loads to support long deployment cycles. It also sustains more than five million operations for AC loads at rated switching limits. The mechanical life exceeds ten million operations which reflects durable construction suited for industrial automation. The Pickering’s 40-170-001 relay module draws 200 mA from the 5 V rail within PXI systems and additionally it requires 340 mA from the 12 V rail during operation. It uses no current from the 3.3 V or negative 12 V rails. This product fits a double slot 3-unit PXI format which ensures mechanical compatibility with many chassis. It connects to the PXI backplane through a standard 32-bit P1 J1 connector. The front panel uses an 8-pin power D Type connector which supports secure cable attachment.
This module supports 90% non-condensing humidity which maintains reliability under varied atmospheric conditions. Its altitude rating of 5000 m enables deployment in elevated industrial and laboratory locations. The unit meets PXI Specification 2.2 which ensures consistent interface behavior across compliant systems. It offers complete CE compliance and meets required safety and electromagnetic compatibility standards.
