The AX/4000 test platform's Spirent 401382 IP Layer 3 POS/ATM/FR OC-3c/OC-12c Single Mode Interface Module enables sophisticated network testing capabilities for a broad range of protocols at fast speeds. Evidently designed for testing environments needing to validate multiple Layer 3 technologies, the module supports Point-to-Point Protocol (POS), Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), and Frame Relay (FR) interfaces. This allows for effortless simulation of the most complex network setups, enabling telecom and network operators to thoroughly validate device and network performance before deployment.
With support for OC-3c (155 Mbps) and OC-12c (622 Mbps), the 401382 module provides single-mode optical connections that are compatible with fiber optic network designs of both lower and larger capacity. Part of the AX/4000 modular design, the 401382 operates with other AX/4000 modules in a cohesive manner to allow for simultaneous ATM, IP, and Frame Relay tests, as well as other Layer 3 protocols, which is particularly valuable for the validation of networks supporting a blend of legacy and next-generation services. This module allows for end-to-end testing across network environments, simulating traffic from subscriber edges through to core backbones, to guarantee reliability and performance in real-world applications.
