Spirent AT-9622 ATM OC-12/STM-4 SmartBits Module

The Spirent AT-9622 is a high speed ATM OC-12/STM-4 single port module for SmartBits SMB-200 and SMB-2000 chassis for advanced testing and monitoring in ATM networks. It can reach 622 Mbps on multi-mode fiber at 1300nm and is suitable for demanding applications such as ATM to LAN internetworking, high performance ATM backbones, xDSL devices and LAN to ATM edge devices. It can handle both peak call rates and high volume testing. It can support up to 800 calls per second per port, 32,000 calls per second with a 40 port suite.

This SmartCard does full duplex frame level testing at wire rates, supports up to 2048 PVCs and SVCs per port. It is fully compatible with the Smart Signaling application for UNI 3.x and 4.0 signaling and high performance benchmarking of ATM switches and edge devices. The AT-9622 can manage up to 8.38 million VCCs per port and up to 335.54 million VCCs in a 40-port configuration for high density applications and traffic simulation for ATM networks.

Performance monitoring on the AT-9622 includes protocol support for PPP, LANE, classical IP (RFC 1577) per session, LLC/SNAP per RFC 1483. It can test across various encapsulation modes such as LAN Emulation Client 1.0 and PPP over AAL5 with customizable traffic class parameters. Frame level latency has 100 ns time stamp resolution for high precision performance measurement. The card can auto establish VCCs, support concurrent frame streams and generate frames at full line rate, single and multi-cell frame generation for robust testing scenarios.

The AT-9622 module has extensive statistics, physical and ATM layer metrics such as payload cells transmitted and received, error correction, HEC errored cells and alarm information for diagnostics. This is for end to end performance analysis, making the AT-9622 a must have for ATM network testing, protocol verification and network reliability assessment across industrial automation, xDSL and LAN to ATM environments.
