Keysight/Agilent 44478A Dual 1 x 4 RF Multiplexer Module
The Keysight 44478A RF Multiplexer Module supports broadband RF routing from DC to 1.3 GHz in automated test systems with a Dual 1 x 4 configuration. This device is also found under the manufacturers Agilent and Hewlett Packard (HP). It is used where repeatable RF channel selection is required during measurement sequencing. The maximum voltage rating of the Multiplexer Module is 42 V for combined DC and AC peak conditions. These limits define safe operation for low-power RF and fast pulse measurement applications. The module uses a tree structure with seven relays in each multiplexer. This relay arrangement helps isolate unused signal paths during RF measurement operations. The design also supports bidirectional switching between source and measurement connections. The 44478A handles switching up to 1 A per channel. It supports 24 W or 24 VA switching capacity for compatible signal paths.
The RF Multiplexer Module supports a maximum scan rate of 43 channels per second. This rate suits automated test racks that require controlled channel sequencing. The module interface uses HP-IB for integration with compatible Keysight switching systems. It operates from selectable line power ranges from 86 to 132 V or 195 to 250 V. The module operates across 48 to 440 Hz line frequency conditions. Its power consumption is rated at 18 VA during system operation.
The Keysight 44478A maintains insertion loss below 1.9 dB at 1.3 GHz. This controlled performance helps preserve signal level during broadband switching. The module provides channel isolation greater than 55 dB at 1 GHz as well as two independent 1 x 4 multiplexer paths for controlled RF signal distribution. The operating temperature range for the module is 0 °C to 55 °C for laboratory and production environments. It supports 95 percent humidity from 0 °C to 40 °C without condensation.
