Keysight M9151A PXI High-Density RF Multiplexer
Keysight's (formerly Agilent) M9151A is a high-density, PXI-based RF multiplexer capable of routing 1x4 switched RF signals to 3 GHz and 75 ohms. It contains four 1x4 RF multiplexers, which are mounted on a single PXI card, providing for bi-directional RF switching. Each individual 1x4 multiplexer has the capability to perform hot switching up to 30 volts, 1 ampere, and 10 watts of RF power. This makes the M9151A ideal for use in ATE applications and industrial RF switching matrices.
The M9151A provides consistent RF performance that meets customer specifications with an average insertion loss of only 1.1 dB at 3 GHz and a VSWR typically less than 1.6:1 across all frequencies. Isolation averages 40 dB at 3 GHz. This minimizes crosstalk among channels. With a nominal input impedance of 75 ohms, this module is compatible with most standard video transmission line types. High-quality SMB connectors allow for quick and easy connection into your system. In addition, each relay path is designed to provide repeatable performance throughout the normal operating life of approximately 10 million cycles under low power conditions.
Besides it being used by engineers in automated test systems, the Keysight M9151A is also utilized for signal routing for various types of video distribution devices (e.g., set-top boxes, cable modems, etc.) that require high channel density. Its quad-1x4 topology makes it possible to create many different configurations to distribute the same input signal to multiple output ports or vice versa. In turn, this makes designing a switch matrix easier. In addition to its fast scan capability (i.e., open/close time = 3 ms), it also offers flexible software support, including drivers for Visual Studio, C/C++/C#/VB.NET/MATLAB/LabVIEW, and the configuration of the unit may be performed via Keysight's Connection Expert or a soft front panel. The overall result is a reduced physical size and better switching fidelity required for testing demanding video and communications applications up to 3 GHz.
