Keysight/Agilent M9155C PXI Hybrid Dual SPDT Coaxial Switch
The Keysight M9155C is a single slot, unterminated PXIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) module combining two 8765C rugged coaxial switches. It is designed for use in high-density automated test equipment (ATE) and RF matrix applications and allows users to route signals from DC to 26.5 GHz. The PXI Hybrid Switch has six available ports with one-wire multiplexing. Users may select either port "A" or port "B" on a per-section basis by selecting a single input line. This enables the user to eliminate the need for manually reconfiguring wiring connections in semiconductor validation and aerospace communication tests, resulting in a reduction in time spent in these processes while still providing a small footprint for easy expansion across multiple chassis slots.
In addition, the Keysight M9155C maintains consistent measurements throughout its production environment due to the guaranteed 0.03 dB variation in insertion loss over the course of five million cycles. At 8 GHz, the M9155C has isolation specifications of 92 dB, which greatly limits crosstalk between closely located signal paths. Also, due to the M9155C having a low SWR (standing wave ratio), there is less uncertainty present in broadband parametric testing. The electrical/mechanical performance characteristics of the Keysight M9155C remain unchanged after many years beyond the expected lifespan of ten million cycles. Therefore, the cost savings of maintenance will be realized in continuous flow ATE systems.
Users can incorporate the Keysight M9155C into a hybrid PXIe chassis along with Arbitrary Waveform Generators (AWGs) and digitizers to create custom switch matrices tailored to meet the specific needs of devices under test. The unconnected nature of the M9155C provides users with complete control of the load presented at the output ports. This feature proves beneficial when external loads must float relative to the test fixture or be terminated at the same point as the test fixture. Rapidly verifying connectivity and diagnosing faults related to relay contact issues is accomplished using built-in ConnectCheck Diagnostics that allow users to verify continuity of the relay paths without having to remove cables from the backplane connectors. As part of scalable systems capable of supporting up to 128 channels within larger frame configurations, this Electromechanical Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) switch provides users with solutions ranging from benchtop multiport RF characterization to fully automated final assembly test stands.
