Keysight/Agilent M9156CH40 PXI Hybrid Coaxial Switch
The Keysight M9156CH40 is a hybrid switch module (PXI) designed to route signals automatically up to 40 GHz. In addition, it includes two precision coaxial transfer switches, model 87222D, in one module, which occupies two slots, providing the test engineer with a versatile platform for creating switch matrices used within automated test equipment, RF communications measurement systems, and parametric testing. As well as supporting all types of aerospace, defense, and wireless infrastructure applications requiring signal integrity and repeatability due to its DC through 40 GHz broadband frequency range.
The M9156CH40 provides excellent repeatability of insertion loss of less than 0.03 dB on average over a five million cycle operation lifetime with a typical operation lifetime of ten million cycles. The repeatability will minimize the effect of test results drifting and reduce the number of recalibrations required to maintain consistent test results, therefore increasing the productivity of high-volume manufacturing. The isolation level of the M9156CH40 has been tested to be greater than 60 dB at 40 GHz, therefore minimizing crosstalk effects when using multiple modules in a densely populated automatic test equipment switch architecture. The insertion loss level of the M9156CH40 remains constant across the entire band, averaging 1.1 dB @ 40 GHz, therefore reducing the uncertainty associated with performing Vector Network Analysis and Signal Generation path measurements.
In addition, the use of a dual transfer switch design allows for a single module to toggle between two input ports and two output ports or to bypass a device under test, thereby reducing the complexity of developing complex switching sequences without the need for additional combining components. Additionally, by implementing this functionality in a PXI form factor with SMA female connectors, system integrators have the ability to expand from a single module to large non-blocking matrices while maintaining the RF performance throughout the entire DC through 40 GHz bandwidth. Therefore, utilizing proven Keysight Switch Technology, the M9156CH40 is able to provide a low-cost per-cycle solution for long-term reliability in demanding industrial automation environments.
