Keysight/Agilent M9157C PXI Hybrid Single SP6T Switch
The Keysight M9157C is a PXI hybrid switch module that offers the functionality of the Keysight L7106C multi-port coaxial switch in a 3-slot PXIe format. The Keysight M9157C operates as a terminated SP6T (single pole, six throw) from DC to 26.5 GHz, providing a suitable option for many RF/microwave automated test equipment (ATE) systems. The Keysight M9157C has seven ports; each port is designed with a robust mechanical switch design that will allow for routing of signals between a single input and multiple outputs or by combining multiple inputs together to create one output. No compromise is made on RF integrity when using this PXI hybrid switch module.
The M9157C module was designed to deliver accurate and consistent switching. The M9157C module's insertion loss repeatability is guaranteed to be ± 0.03dB after two million cycles of operation. Many modules have been tested to operate over five million cycles. This level of repeatability will help ensure that your measurements remain accurate throughout extended periods of time when running tests. Isolation levels on the module reach 90 dB at 12 GHz, which is significantly better than many other options available for isolating crosstalk in dense ATE configurations. A low Standing Wave Ratio (SWR) reduces measurement uncertainties associated with SWR. All these features make it suitable for a variety of applications, including RF parametric testing, wireless communication verification, and aerospace/defense signal distribution.
The M9157C also contains a built-in "Connect Check" feature, allowing engineers to confirm whether or not each path is closed without requiring the use of an external digital multimeter. In addition to being able to check the state of each path, this feature greatly simplifies diagnosing problems within your test setup. Since the M9157C operates from sub-1 GHz through millimeter-wave frequencies, it covers nearly all commercial and military frequency bands. The hybrid architecture used by the M9157C provides engineers with a cost-effective method to build large custom switch matrices. Multiple M9157C modules may be combined together to create flexible, high-channel-count multiplexers, all while providing the required signal fidelity.
Typical applications include routing connections for Devices Under Test (DUT), creating connections for Automated Spectrum Analyzers (ASA) and Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) sharing, and routing connections for a variety of other types of instrumentation.
